“All That Is, Is Light,” Photographs by Ben Rose

Opening Friday, March 5th, 2010 6-9 pm

I am pleased to be turning my gallery over to the very talented young artist Ben Rose for the month of March.  He has put together a creative exhibit of photographs that I think you will enjoy very much.

Ben Rose is a Denver-based light artist and photographer. He received his B.A. in Art History and Film History from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY and continued his Art Historical studies in a Doctoral program at City University of New York Graduate Center before finally settling on a M.Sci in Lighting from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lighting Research Center, which he received in 2009. Drawing inspiration largely from entoptic phenomena, his photography attempts to depict personally interior spaces and forms using unique methods of capturing light.

Iceland: Fire & Ice

Opening Friday, November 6, 2009 6-9 pm

Iceland is a land of contrasts, born of fiery orange volcanoes and covered with deep blue-green ice, verdantly lush in some areas and other-worldly arid in others, it is a complex landscape.  The climate is cold enough to produce some of the largest glaciers in Europe, yet it is tempered by the gulfstream and has a wide range of vegetation.  This combination of landforms lends itself to wonderful photography, from the waterfalls to the glaciers and braided streams.  Please join me for this photographic journey through the ins and outs of the south coast of Iceland.
