Salon du Musee

I am honored to have been selected again this year for the Salon D'Arts event to benefit the Denver Art Museum.  Salon du Musee is modeled after the Paris art salons of the late nineteenth century and serves as a public forum designed to promote the exchange of ideas between artists and viewers. Salon du Musee features more than forty mid-career and nationally-renowned artists with approximately one hundred paintings and sculptures ranging in subject matter from representational figure, landscape and still life to mixed media and abstract.

“Colorado, See the New West Like a Local” Exhibition at Denver International Airport

I am honored to have my Amber Waves photograph selected to show in the Colorado, See the New West Like a Local exhibition that will be showing at the Denver International Airport from April, 2008 through January, 2009.  According to the Call for Entries, the exhibition will express the essence of Colorado as interpreted by the residents who live here.  The exhibition will be made up of poems and short written statements about Colorado that will then be illustrated through visual, tactile, sound, and multimedia original artworks produced by Colorado artists.  Written statements were submitted from around Colorado, and the selection committee identified 137 to be considered for interpretation by artists.  I submitted two images and Amber Waves was selected to represent the statement: “Colorado is the golden plains that move with the gentle prairie winds. It’s the old homesteads that still remain in the vast eastern fields, relics from the Pioneers who dreamt of a new life.”
